Ability Central WORKS! is a 501(c)3 located in Beaumont, Texas.
Our Mission
Our mission at ACW is to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities in a setting that provides love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We currently provide prevocational training in an environment that is accepting and motivating in which our team members can be productive and successful.
Our Day-to-Day
We take tasks and break them into manageable steps so that they can be completed as independently as possible by our team members. As we enjoy the journey, we ensure it is the journey itself that is meaningful, not just the outcome or destination. Every part that contributes to the final product is appreciated and necessary. The products that are made at ACW are truly a team effort from start to finish.
Programming and Capacity
We currently have about 20 team members who attend on a regular basis. Some attend once per week and others more frequently. Our facility has enough space for us to serve up to 20 team members per day! Currently, our work consists largely of items we make indoors – such as casting concrete, making soap, creating original art work, and making and packaging dog treats that we sell in our store. Our facilty sits on approximately one acre which gives us the opportunity to expand our programming to the outdoors. We started with raised bed an look foraward to our first in-ground garden this spring! We love being outside and enjoying nature during our breaks.
